$9,000 In Cash For Building A Better House?
By Randall Lanou, BuildSense Design + Construction
High performance home builders working in the Duke Energy Progress area are eligible for up to $9,000 in cash through the Duke Energy Residential New Construction Program. Duke’s Residential New Construction Program provides cash incentives to builders and developers who build new energy-efficient homes and multi-family residences in their service territory. You may choose to participate in one of two types of incentives.
One, whole house incentives of up to $9,000 for builders who build to or above the 2012 North Carolina Energy Conservation Code’s High Efficiency Residential Option (HERO). Two, specific equipment incentives. Examples include heat pumps with a SEER rating greater than 14 and ENERGY STAR qualified heat pump water heaters.
The North Carolina Utilities Commission is currently considering westward expansion of the Duke Energy Residential New Construction Program including the Triad and Charlotte areas. If you support this expansion, please send a comment to the Utilities commission through their consumer statements link.
This is real money for building a better house. There is nothing wrong with happy customers, a cleaner environment, and a bigger bottom line!
