NCHBA Members Advocate for Housing at State and Federal Levels
The North Carolina Home Builders Association has been busy in recent weeks as its Senior Officers, staff and members from across the state have met with lawmakers in Raleigh and Washington, DC to advocate for policies that will ease the housing affordability crisis.
Congressional Visits in Washington, DC
On June 12, NCHBA members traveled to Washington, DC to meet with North Carolina’s Congressional Delegation as part of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) 2024 Legislative Conference. Members discussed several issues at the federal level that will keep housing affordable and spur the production of attainable housing.

Legislative Reception & Advocacy Day in Raleigh
On June 4 in Raleigh, NCHBA held its annual Legislative Reception at the Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh. Members of the NC General Assembly, Council of State, appellate judges and legislative and agency staff joined NCHBA members for an enjoyable evening social.

The following day, June 5, more than 100 NCHBA members visited the Legislative Building in Raleigh to lobby their legislators on several key NCHBA legislative priorities.
NCHBA Executive Vice President Tim Minton and NCHBA’s Senior Officers held meetings with Senate Pro. Temp. Phil Berger (R-Rockingham), Speaker Tim Moore (R-Cleveland), House Rules Chair Destin Hall (R-Caldwell), House Majority Leader John Bell (R-Wayne), among other members of the General Assembly. Our senior leadership team stressed the importance of the housing industry to the health of the overall economy.
