Stand Down For COVID-19 Safety
This Thursday, April 16 NCHBA is joining with local HBAs across North Carolina and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in calling for our members to pause work for a national safety stand down to educate workers on what they should do to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Join our event on Facebook to help spread the word about COVID-19 Job-Site Safety Awareness Day.
As part of the safety stand down, members are being asked to pause all work for at least 10 minutes to relay coronavirus safety precautions, such as maintaining a distance of no less than six feet with others at all times, cleaning and sanitizing frequently used tools, equipment, and frequently touched surfaces on a regular basis and ensuring the proper sanitation of common surfaces and equipment. The safety information can also be distributed digitally (through email and/or text).
NAHB has developed a packet in English and Spanish to conduct the COVID-19 Job Site Safety Stand Down. The resources are comprised of one document that can be linked or forwarded to your workers or used for an on-site presentation. NOTE: all social distancing guidance should be followed if the stand down is conducted in person.
Please use these additional resources to ensure safety on the job-site:
- NAHB has created one-page posters in both English and Spanish for you to post on job-sites. There are also additional safety resources from NAHB on this page.
- Builders Mutual has created an excellent poster that contains safety instructions in both English and Spanish. Please download it and share it with your employees and post it on job-sites. Builders Mutual has more resources available on their website as well.
